Toning Cyanotypes
I wish I could tell you I know what I am doing, but I can’t. I am pretty much following a recipe that I picked up from someone else, but it lacks the details. How much solution do I paint onto the paper to begin? How long should the print be exposed to the sunlight and its UV rays? In the end, how long do I keep it in the Borax before toning it in the coffee solution? And yet, though I didn’t have the details, following the general steps got me somewhere, and it wasn’t bad. In fact, I wouldn’t even know what perfect would look like. I just know the end result was good.
